Katherine Terrell

Katherine holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Belmont University, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology from the University of Kentucky.

She began her career as a special education teacher, working with elementary and middle school students for five years before transitioning into school psychology, where she has spent the past decade supporting children and adolescents from early childhood through high school.

As a Transition Support Specialist and Psychometrist at Closer Horizons, Katherine brings a thoughtful, strengths-based approach to every interaction. Whether she is assisting with comprehensive psychological evaluations or supporting individuals as they build greater independence, she combines evidence-informed practices with genuine compassion. Katherine believes that every person has unique strengths and works collaboratively with clients and families to identify practical strategies that promote confidence, resilience, and meaningful growth.

She is especially passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s transitions with greater independence and self-assurance while creating a supportive, personalized experience that helps each person move toward their goals.

Outside the Office

Outside of the office, Katherine enjoys getting lost in a good book, whipping up a new recipe, going on hikes, and spending time with her family, including her daughter, especially when they’re off on an adventure together.
