Rates & Payment
Before You Book
Your health information is yours. As a private-pay practice, we keep contact with insurance companies to a minimum so diagnoses and clinical details don’t follow you or your child into a permanent insurance record.
Payment is due at the time of service. Cash, check or debit/credit through our Venmo storefront, @Closerhorizons. We’re glad to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Support Shouldn’t Be Out of Reach
For clients seeking a more accessible rate, one-on-one care is also available with our supervised clinicians. These second-year interns are carefully selected, trained, and supervised by Dr. G to provide thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming care aligned with the values of Closer Horizons.
This option offers a lower rate while maintaining the focused, individualized, and unhurried approach you can expect throughout the practice.
FAQs
-
At Closer Horizons, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to cancellations or missed appointments. To ensure the best possible care for all our clients, we have established the following policies:
Payment Policy: Payment is due at the time of service and may be made by cash, check (made out to Dr. Kenya Guarnieri), or Venmo @CloserHorizons. We also accept HSA debit and credit cards through our Venmo storefront. Timely payment ensures a smooth and consistent experience for both clients and providers.
Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment without incurring a fee. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client in need. Dr. G can be reached at 502-281-7432 or hello@closerhorizons.com for cancellations.
Missed Appointments: If an appointment is missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, a fee equal to 50% of the missed session will be charged. This fee must be paid before your next scheduled session.
Late Arrivals: Arriving late to your appointment can impact the quality of your session and affect subsequent appointments. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these policies, as they help us maintain a high standard of service for all our clients.
-
At Closer Horizons, we do not accept insurance. This allows us to focus fully on your child or teen’s unique needs, free from outside restrictions.
Clinical freedom: Decisions are based on professional expertise and your family’s goals—not insurance requirements.
Privacy first: We don’t share sensitive details with insurance companies, giving your child added security and discretion.
Personalized care: Without limitations, we can create a truly individualized approach that supports your child’s growth and well-being.
If you’d like, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
-
At this time, Closer Horizons does not offer extended payment plans for evaluations. However, we do provide the option to split the cost into two parts: 50% is due at the time of the intake appointment, and the remaining 50% is due prior to the start of testing.

At Closer Horizons, some services are provided by clinicians who are working under the close supervision of a licensed psychologist.
All supervised clinicians are carefully selected, receive regular one-on-one and group supervision, and use the same neurodiversity affirming, evidence-based approaches as our licensed psychologists. Families benefit from a collaborative team approach at an accessible price point.
